1. what is the different about Nitriding furnace and Vaccum furnace?
Ion nitriding, also known as glow nitriding, is carried out using the principle of glow discharge. Ion nitriding is to use the metal workpiece as the cathode furnace body as the anode in a low-vacuum furnace filled with nitrogen gas. After being energized, the nitrogen and hydrogen atoms in the medium are ionized under the high-voltage DC electric field, forming a plasma region between the cathodes. to adsorption and diffusion, nitrogen penetrates into the surface of the workpiece.
Under the action of a strong electric field in the plasma area, the positive ions of nitrogen and hydrogen bombard the surface of the workpiece at a high speed. The high kinetic energy of ions is converted into thermal energy, heating the surface of the workpiece to the required temperature. Due to the bombardment of ions, atomic sputtering is generated on the surface of the workpiece, which is purified. At the same time, due to adsorption and diffusion, nitrogen penetrates into the surface of the
workpiece.

The gas nitridingsystem workpiece is placed in the furnace, and the NH3 gas is directly injected into the nitride furnace at 500 to 550ºC, which is maintained for 20 to 100 hours, so that NH3 gas is decomposed into atomic (N) gas and (H) gas for nitriding. The main purpose is to produce a wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant compound layer on the surface of the steel.


2. Precautions for ion nitriding
The cleaning workpiece is nitridized with gas, but it is best to dry or cool and then put it into the furnace to save arcing time. The workpiece should be evenly loaded into the furnace. The interval between the workpiece and the cathode and anode must be more than 30mm, so as to avoid the excessive current density between the two poles and the local temperature of the workpiece being too high. Do a good job of anti-seepage. Any hole less than 2mm must be shielded, and the sample must be placed in a position that can be consistent with the temperature of the workpiece.
